Liberty is a plant that requires constant tending. When times are hard, people tend to seek security in a more rigid identity, to redefine the past to support their position, and to see a threat in any diversity, from gender to ethnic to religious identity This drive for conformity threatens all of the freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. There is a paranoid fear that a jealous tribal god will smite the nation if he is not worshiped in the same way by all. Whatever our faith may be, we cannot afford to take our freedom of worship for granted.

Since the 70s, members of the Religious Right have been making a concerted and intentional effort to reshape America into White Christian Nationalist nation. They have their own forms of magic, using exhortation from the pulpit or rally stage to influence the American psyche as they manipulate politics to get their people into power, forgetting that the law that protects their faith is only strong because it protects others as well. The rights guaranteed by the First Amendment have been redefined as the right to practice their religion, speak and write their party line, and assemble to support their faith. This is the belief of a minority of Christians, supported by the plans laid out in the “Project 2025” document, their influence has reached far, refocusing  protections, and gutting the list of faiths recognized by the Armed Services and other government agencies.

However theirs is not the only “spiritual technology” that can be used to shape the consciousness of a nation. In the eighteenth century, the French philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau proposed that each nation should develop a “Civil Religion” that could be practiced as a complement rather than a competitor to their religious faith. In fact, a close examination reveals that many elements of the “American Civil Religion” are already in place, waiting for those who understand the techniques of visualization and affirmation to work with existing political traditions, symbols and figures that have evolved throughout our history, and the spirits of the land itself to return this nation, not to the Left, but to the balanced center which draws on the contributions of those who by birth or adoption are the children of this land.

The purpose of this site is to

  • understand the lives and honor the efforts of those who began and continued the fight to make the ideals expressed in our founding documents a reality;
  •  reclaim the symbols that represent our nation’s founding ideals,and activate them in the public consciousness through affirmation, visualization and ritual;
  • observe our national holidays as celebrations of the principles on which this country was founded;
